How to Embed a Pop-Up Video in Your Flipbook (Lightbox Hotspot)

One of the most powerful ways to make your digital flipbook stand out is by adding interactive video. Instead of a static page, you can create an engaging experience where your readers can watch a product demo, a personal message, or a cinematic showreel with a single click.

This guide will walk you through the simple steps to add a professional pop-up (lightbox) video hotspot to your Fflipp flipbook. Let's get started!

Step 1: Go to the Advanced Editor

First, navigate to your Fflipp dashboard and find the flipbook you want to edit. Click the "Edit" button, and from the main editor page, find and click the button to enter the Advanced Features Editor.

Step 2: Navigate to the Hotspots Tab

Inside the Advanced Editor, you'll see several tabs for managing your flipbook. Click on the "Hotspots" tab. This is your command center for all interactive elements.

Scroll down to the "Add New Media Hotspot" section.

Step 3: Configure the Video Hotspot

This is where you'll tell Fflipp what you want to add. Fill out the form with the following settings:

• Page Number: Enter the page where you want the clickable video icon to appear.
• Media Type: Select "Video" from the dropdown menu.
• Display Mode: Choose "Lightbox (Pops up when clicked)". This is the key to creating the pop-up effect.

CRITICAL: Getting the Correct YouTube/Vimeo URL

To ensure your video works correctly, you must use the embed URL, not the regular watch link from your browser's address bar.

How to find the Embed URL on YouTube:

1. Go to your video on YouTube.
2. Click the "Share" button below the video player.
3. In the pop-up, click the "Embed" option.
4. A new window will appear showing the full "iframe" code. Click the "COPY" button.
5. Now, go back to the Fflipp editor and paste this entire code block into the "Video URL or Embed Code" field. Our platform will automatically find the correct video link for you!

Step 4: Add and Position Your Hotspot

Once you've pasted the embed URL, click the "Add Media" button. You will be redirected to the visual hotspot editor.

Here, you can simply drag and re-position the video icon and place it exactly where you want it on the page. Once you're happy with the position, click "Save" and you're done!

Your readers can now click this icon to launch your video in a beautiful, fullscreen lightbox, creating a seamless and professional interactive experience.
