As your library of flipbooks grows, keeping everything organized becomes essential. Instead of scrolling through a long list to find the one you need, you can use Fflipp's powerful category system to sort, filter, and manage your content with ease. This feature is available for all Pro and Business users.
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about using categories to tidy up your dashboard and your public Fflipp-rack.
Why Use Categories?
Categorizing your flipbooks offers two major benefits:
- For You: It makes your dashboard much easier to manage. You can quickly filter your view to see only "Portfolios," "Client Proposals," or "Monthly Reports," saving you time and effort.
- For Your Audience: If you have a public Fflipp-rack, categories act as a navigation system for your visitors, allowing them to browse your work by topic.
How to Assign Categories to a Flipbook
You can manage categories from the "Quick Advanced Settings" tab in the Advanced Editor.
Step 1: Go to the Advanced Editor
From your main dashboard, find the flipbook you want to organize and click the "Edit" button. On the main editor page, look for the button that says "Advanced Features Editor" and click it.
Step 2: Find the "Organize into Categories" Section
On the "Quick Advanced Settings" tab, you'll find a fieldset for categories. Here, you will see a checklist of all available default and custom categories.
Step 3: Assign Existing Categories
Simply check the boxes next to the categories you want to assign to this flipbook. You can select up to three categories per flipbook.
How to Create a New Custom Category
If the default categories don't fit your needs, you can easily create your own!
- In the same "Organize into Categories" section, find the input field labeled "Create a New Custom Category."
- Type the name of your new category (e.g., "Social Media Content," "Wedding Albums").
- Click the "Save Categories" button.
Your new custom category will be created and automatically assigned to the current flipbook. It will now appear in the checklist for all your other flipbooks as well.
Filtering Your Dashboard
Once you've assigned categories, a new filter bar will appear at the top of each tab on your dashboard. Just click on a category name to instantly filter your view and see only the flipbooks that match.
Organizing your content is a simple step that makes managing a large library a breeze. Start categorizing your flipbooks today to create a more streamlined workflow for yourself and a better browsing experience for your audience!
