Who Gets to See Your Masterpiece? A Guide to Fflipp's Sharing Options

Who Gets to See Your Masterpiece? A Guide to Fflipp's Sharing Options

More Than a Link: A Guide to Flipbook Privacy Settings

You’ve done the hard work. You’ve crafted a beautiful, interactive flipbook. Now for the slightly tricky part: deciding who gets the honour of viewing it. Sharing your masterpiece isn't a one-size-fits-all affair, and choosing the right setting is key to making sure your content lands in front of the right eyes (and only the right eyes).

Think of Fflipp's sharing options as different types of doors. Let's walk through which door is right for which occasion, shall we?

1. Public: The "Open House"

A Public flipbook is for when you want to shout from the rooftops. It's discoverable on your Fflipp-rack, visible to search engines, and generally ready for its close-up with the entire world. No invitation required.

  • Perfect for: Your brilliant new magazine, a marketing brochure you're incredibly proud of, or a portfolio meant to be discovered.
  • Privacy Level: Charmingly non-existent. The goal is visibility!
  • Available on: All plans (including our rather generous Free plan).

2. Listed: The "Secret Handshake"

A Listed flipbook is your go-to for quiet, direct sharing. It’s hidden from public view and search engines. Only people who have the exact, magical link can open it. It’s like knowing the password to a secret club.

A spot of bother to consider: This secret handshake can be taught. The link is the only key, and it can be forwarded, shared, or accidentally posted in the wrong group chat. So, while it's private, it's not exactly Fort Knox.

  • Perfect for: Sharing a draft with a trusted colleague, sending a portfolio for a specific job application, or sharing holiday photos with your cousin (who promises not to share it with your Aunt Carol).
  • Privacy Level: Respectable, but relies on the honour system.
  • Available on: All plans.

3. Password-Protected: The "Doorman" (Business Plan)

This is where things get serious. A Password-Protected flipbook has a doorman. Even if someone has the address (the link), they still need to know the password to get past the velvet rope. It's a simple and effective way to restrict access to a chosen group.

A spot of bother to consider: Like any good piece of gossip, a password can be shared. Its effectiveness depends entirely on how well your group can keep a secret.

  • Perfect for: Internal company reports, paid course materials, or client presentations where you can share a password with the team.
  • Privacy Level: Quite good. A solid lock on the door.
  • Available on: The Business Plan.

4. Private (Invite-Only): The "Personal Butler" (Business Plan)

This is Fflipp's most controlled sharing option. A Private flipbook doesn't care about links or passwords. It has a personal butler at the door with a very specific guest list.

The Crucial Difference: A password is a what. A private invitation is a who. One can be shared, the other cannot.

Access is tied directly to an individual's Fflipp account. The butler checks their ID. If their name's not on the list, they're not coming in—even if they have the link and showed up in a limousine. You can also ask the butler to politely show someone the door at any time by revoking their access.

  • Perfect for: A bespoke proposal for a single, high-value client; delivering a premium digital product to an individual customer; or sharing your top-secret plans for world domination with your one trusted collaborator.
  • Privacy Level: Top-notch control. You know exactly who is on the guest list.
  • Available on: The Business Plan.

Choosing the Right Door for Your Content

Fflipp is designed to give you the precise level of control you need. Start with our Free plan for your "Open House" and "Secret Handshake" sharing, or upgrade to the Business plan when you're ready to hire a "Doorman" or a "Personal Butler." Choose the option that lets you share your work with confidence. Cheerio!

A Quick, Sensible Word on Privacy:

Here at Fflipp, we've built our privacy tools to be brilliant for their intended job: sharing work with clients, teams, and friends.

As with anything on the internet, it's always best to be a bit sensible. We encourage you to share your amazing work, but perhaps keep the top-secret government codes or your grandmother's secret biscuit recipe somewhere offline. Cheers!
